MODERN IMAGE. ELY STATION CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Welcome to my first visit to Ely Station. Lots of units pass through here and lots of pretty faces are likely to appear. The young lady below is Michelle a hairdresser from Bolton in Lancashire. She came and sat with us just to talk. What a vibrant young lady she is too, full of enthusiasm and showing an interest in anything one wants to talk about. A real pleasure to meet you Michelle. Ernie and Keith thank you for your company and wish you every success in the future. A mention here of the chap on the station, I will call him a maintenance person as I did not note his correct title. He was most helpful to us and passengers by giving us information and general chat. It was he who told us that that the red class '66' would be arriving about one o'clock. Again a very pleasant person to meet. Our visit was on Monday 2nd March which is usually quiet as far as freight is concerned. We arrived around 11am and left at 3 pm. Just three freights. I intend to revisit Ely on a Wednesday when I think there may be a few more freight workings.
