WATER ORTON 20th January
2009
Another set of pictures taken on a really nice
day. David and I arrived at about 8 am and stayed till 2 pm. A
really nice 'one of our best ' days. It was nice to see the Class
97's in the yellow livery. Of course these were originally 37's. We
were both using new cameras, Sony Cybershot DSC H10. Brilliant
camera for £165.
Very easy to get to from the M6 motorway. For numbers the best place
is on the station platform. For photography one can use the platform
or a footbridge to the east, the station entrance road bridge and a
foot crossing a few hundred yards to the east but here you will not
see all the trains. You will usually find a number of enthusiasts
here so there is always someone to chat with. Nearby is a Tesco
Extra, a chip shop and a take away. There is a toilet in the free
car park.
