PICTORIAL WALKS

Yelden, Bedfordshire (20 images)

You are never too old to learn, the saying goes......  On visiting this small village I learned that there was once a castle here. As I entered from the east I noticed a large mound of earth covered in grass and it seems that this site dates back to the 1100's. The village is very attractive with a single storey pub and a number of pretty thatched cottages. I was pleased to find the church open. My walk was in June 2006 and as it is not a large walk. May I suggest that you also visit the nearby village of Melchbourne.
