750 acres of sheer beauty is the way I describe these gardens. It is an
18th
century masterpiece in the care of The National Trust. There are monuments, temples, columns, waterfalls, lakes, wildfowl and the
Magnificent Stowe House School. There are three walks which you can follow.
Cobhams Walk (1mile), Worthies
Wander (1.5 miles) and The Wider Landscape (3 miles). Walk guides and books are available from the visitor centre which is manned
by very friendly staff. This was my second visit to Stowe and I walked about 4 miles. I took
some 85 pictures, 46 of which are here for you to view. I arrived at 11 am and departed at 2.45 pm slightly tired after a really
excellent visit.
