A warm welcome.
That is what I received when I arrived at St Laurence Church
on Sunday 5th March 2006. Coffee and biscuits and much
interesting conversation with some of the congregation, for they new
my past relatives who lived and worked in the village. My Uncle
Harold worked in the now closed Co-op shop in Church
Street. The morning was cold but the early spring sunshine
helped to remove the chill factor. I was in Stanwick for a
good two hours and found some very interesting buildings. Such as the farmhouse
where vintage champagne is rumoured to be hidden somewhere within the
walls and a lovely thatched cottage hidden in
High Street. |
