2008 NEW YEARS DAY CYCLE RIDE. Wellingborough
After all the resting, socialising, eating, sleeping and
drinking over the Christmas and New Years Eve I decided it was time
to climb on my bike and get some fresh air and exercise. Pictorial
Walk ? No, this will be a Pictorial Ride. So this ride of ten
mile or so takes you to Croyland Fields with the travellers horses,
past the small lake and along the Croyland Cycleway to the old
London Road Cemetery. From here we travel down 'The Walks' to The
Embankment and the River Nene. On then to the 'Crown and Anchor' pub
and turning right take the road towards Irthlingborough. Crossing
over the railway we get fine views of The Nene Valley and the sea
birds which have flown inland to feast on the farmers newly sown
crop. Along Sidegate Lane now, joining the Finedon Road and returning
home over the railway. Have a really good 2008. |
