Six of us gentlemen visited this magnificent museum during November 2005. At the moment there are
six hangers/halls to look around. We arrived at 10am and departed at closing time
4pm and we just did not have enough time to view
everything. Hanger 2 includes a lovely selection of British and American
WWII fighters. Hanger 3 contains a collection of maritime exhibits.
Hanger 4 displays aircraft used for UK air defence and features the
Battle of
Britain exhibition. Hanger 5 is the conservation hanger. You may see staff and volunteers
carrying out restoration work here. American Air Museum - An awesome display of American air power.
Land Warfare Hall - The museums collection of tanks, military vehicles and
artillery. This is the hall that I personally enjoyed the most although the overall opinion of the six of us was...'A fantastic day out'.
