DUMBARTON to BOWLING
This is a short cycle ride or walk from
DUMBARTON TO BOWLING along a disused railway track. It is part
of THE WEST HIGHLAND WAY. You can join the path at various
points in Dumbarton and you will join the actual track bed alongside
the A82 trunk road. The path passes through a very short tunnel as
well as an old bridge, rock cuttings, site of a station and a small
waterfall. At BOWLING you will find a long bridge and low
viaduct as well as refurbished canal basin and canal. It is here
that the CLYDE/FORTH CANAL commences. |
