Dumbarton,

Stormclouds gathered upon our
arrival for a ten-day stay with our friends John and Peter
(the twins). The town of Dumbarton is 4 miles south of
Loch Lomond and l5 miles north of Glasgow. The River
Leven passes through the centre of the town on it's way from
Loch Lomond to the River Clyde. |

June and I have stayed here over 30 times and love the hospitality and home from
home atmosphere. I always like to wander round the town with my
camera and seem to discover something new to photograph on each
visit. This time it was the entrance facade to the Old
Gaol (Slide 30). The pictures which follow were taken on one of the five
first damp wet overcast days.... Yes it can be like that in
Scotland. |
