Helensburgh. Scotland
Now this is a town that I have always wanted to reside in. The first
time I visited here was in 1967 when our young son David was four
months old. It is like an inland seaside resort with a shingle beach
and lovely views over the River Clyde. There are no huge
supermarkets here but there are some beautiful large houses
including Hill House of Charles Rennie Mackintosh fame. It was
built in 1902-04. The paddle steamers and ferries used to call here
on their way up and down the Clyde. We have lots of Super 8 cine
film which we took while riding on these ferries. |
