Weston Super Mare Illuminated Carnival 2007
Without a doubt this is a fantastic
experience. It is unlike any other carnival worldwide. Just look at
the size of the floats compared to the spectators and it will give
you an idea of how large the displays are. Roughly speaking they are
as high as a double deck bus and three times as long. The carnival
takes place on the third Monday in November. There are up to sixty
floats and it takes about two hours to pass by. The same Carnival
also visits other towns in Somerset. As a spectator you are
requested to throw coins at selected vehicles to raise money for
local charities. Pennies to pounds, every little helps.
