It has been made using
a framework underneath and a board laid over the top. The
tunnel has been made using Peco mouths and polystyrene /
chicken wire with bandage strips over the top and filler.
There is also a cut out behind the tunnel to clean the track
from.
The track is all Peco,
has been tacked down and has been ballasted using granules
and PVA glue mixed with water. The points are hand operated.
It is basically two separate loops, each individually
controlled, the inner loop having sidings by the factory and
a siding at the station. The power
cables are soldered to the track near the level crossing
permanently, they are completely invisible underneath the
ballast. To connect the controllers to power the track,
simply use the bullet connectors at the front.
All buildings are
either Kestrel Designs or Hornby Lyddle End. The Hornby
buildings I still have the original boxes for and are all in
perfect condition. They include petrol station, farm house,
a piggery and hay shed. The Kestrel designs buildings are
large factory, church, modern industrial unit and the
station.
Other items such as the
station forecourt, the footbridge and the level crossing
have been either completely scratch built (level
crossing) or are modified kits (footbridge to make it span 3
tracks instead of 2).
All of the buildings
are in excellent condition, no damage whatsoever, have been
painted and slightly modified by myself to try and make them
as realistic as possible.
